Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.

Reading Progress: We store the book, chapter, and verse you last read so you can resume where you left off.

Bookmarks: If you save Bible verses, we store those references linked to your account.

Payment Information: If you subscribe to The Daily Word Premium, payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

Camera: The app declares camera permission in order to support potential future features. We do not access your camera at this time, and no camera data is collected or transmitted.

Push Notifications

If you grant permission, the mobile app sends a daily push notification with a Bible verse reminder at the time you choose. You can change your notification time or turn them off at any time within the app or through your device settings. No notification data is shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app and its features
• To sync your reading progress and bookmarks across devices
• To process premium subscriptions through Stripe
• To send account-related emails (e.g. password reset) — we do not send marketing emails without your consent

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Replit — hosting infrastructure.
• Expo / React Native — mobile app framework.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Children's Privacy

The Daily Word is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account by emailing us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
